XPS PIB

Extruded Polystyrene Pipe Insulation Billet (XPS PIB)

In demanding refrigeration applications, no other insulating material can equal the performance of XPS PIB. The rigid, closed-cell structure of XPS PIB gives it high compressive strength, low friability, and excellent resistance to water and water absorption from freeze-thaw cycling.

• Excellent water resistance (to both liquid and vapor)
• Good thermal efficiency - low k-factor (high R-value)
• Closed-cell and non-fibrous structure that does not wick water and is not a known source for mold and mildew
• Good dimensional stability
• Fabrication and installation ease
• Nondusting, clean surface
• Low initial and life-cycle cost
• Long service life
• A new fire retardant that replaces HBCD (hexabromocyclododecane)
